The Pajaro Valley Schools Foundation can help increase funding
to your school in a variety of ways.

  1. Many grants are available only to non-profit organizations with a 501(c)(3) tax exempt designation.  With the PVSF serving as its fiscal sponsor a school can receive grants and corporate donations available only to 501(c)(3)'s.

  2.  Because of certain tax restrictions, some businesses will only donate to organizations with 501(c)(3) status. A donor in this category can donate funds to the PVSF with instructions that their donations be transferred to your school.  The Pajaro Valley Schools Foundation then forwards the donation to the donor's chosen school

3.  The Pajaro Valley Schools Foundation can include your school as a recipient of grants it might.   For example, in 2005 we received a $10,000 Starbucks Foundation Grant to support the River of Words Wetland Conservation and Literacy Program in 3 local schools.

4.  Some employers will match an employee's donation to a non-profit organization, but only to one with 501(c)(3) status.  If this is the case, the parent can make a donation to their child's school through the PVSF.  The employer then makes a matching donation.  Both donations are forwarded to your school, doubling the contribution!

5.  The PVSF can include your school in community fund raisers.  For example in 2006 local schools, businesses, community leaders and our foundation collaborated on the "Drive for 800" Fund raising truck drawing.  This funding drive was a wonderful success and raised over $30,000 for participating schools.
